1 What Is Responsible Gaming?
Responsible gaming is the practice of treating online betting and casino games for exactly what they are: a form of entertainment with a cost attached. Like going to the cinema or eating out, gaming has a price – and that price should be one you have consciously decided you are comfortable spending before you start, not something you discover after the fact.
At 288min, responsible gaming is not a box-ticking exercise. It is built into how the platform works. The tools on this page exist because we genuinely want players in Pakistan to enjoy the platform without it causing financial stress, relationship problems, or mental health difficulties. Cricket betting during a T20 or trying your luck at a Casino table should feel like recreation. The moment it starts feeling like necessity, pressure, or a solution to money problems, it is time to step back and use the tools available.
The core idea is simple: you are always in control. 288min provides the controls. You decide how to use them.
2 Our Principles
These are not vague aspirations. They are commitments that shape how 288min is built and operated:
- Gaming is entertainment, not income. The house edge in Casino games and the margin in Sports betting means that over time, most players will spend more than they win. This is the nature of gaming. We do not promote gaming as a way to make money.
- You set the limits, and we enforce them. Deposit limits, session limits, and self-exclusions take effect immediately when set. We do not make them easy to reverse on a whim.
- We do not target vulnerable players. Players who have self-excluded or set strict limits do not receive promotional offers designed to get them to play more.
- 18+ is non-negotiable. No player under the age of 18 should have access to 288min. We check ages during registration and verification, and we close accounts where underage access is identified.
- Help is always available. Support is available around the clock. If you want to discuss responsible gaming options, contact us at [email protected] and someone will help you set up whatever controls you need.
3 Account Control Tools
288min provides several practical tools inside your account that give you direct control over how you play. These are available to every registered player and can be activated at any time through account settings or by contacting support.
- Deposit Limits: Set a maximum PKR amount you can deposit per day, per week, or per month. Once the limit is reached, no further deposits are accepted until the period resets. You can lower your limit instantly; increasing it requires a cooling-off period to take effect.
- Session Time Reminders: Set a reminder that notifies you after you have been logged in and playing for a defined period – for example 30 minutes or one hour. The reminder appears on screen so you can decide whether to continue or log out.
- Reality Checks: At intervals you choose, a brief summary appears showing how long you have been playing and your net result for the session. This keeps you grounded in facts rather than the feeling of the moment.
- Cool-Off Period: Take a break from the platform for a defined number of days – from 24 hours up to several weeks. During a cool-off your account remains open but you cannot deposit or place bets. The period cannot be shortened once it starts.
- Self-Exclusion: A more permanent option that closes your account for an extended period. See Section 7 for the full guide on how self-exclusion works on 288min.
All account control tools can be activated through your account settings page or by emailing [email protected] with your registered mobile number and the tool you want to enable. Changes that reduce your access (lower limits, cool-offs, self-exclusion) take effect immediately with no waiting period.
4 Setting a Gaming Budget
The single most effective responsible gaming habit is setting a budget before you start – not during, and definitely not after. A gaming budget should be an amount you are genuinely comfortable losing entirely, because that is always a possible outcome.
Here is a straightforward way to think about it for Pakistan players using 288min:
Decide your monthly entertainment budget
Look at your monthly income and fixed expenses. Whatever is left for discretionary spending – food out, entertainment, leisure – your gaming allocation should come from that, not from rent, utility bills, or savings.
Set your deposit limit to match
Once you have a number in mind, set it as your monthly deposit limit in your account settings. This removes the temptation to top up "just a little more" in the heat of the moment.
Never chase losses
If you have lost your budget for the session, stop. Depositing more to win back what you lost is the most common way a manageable loss becomes a serious problem. The odds do not change because you are behind.
Treat winnings as a bonus, not income
If you win, great – but do not adjust your lifestyle around the expectation that it will happen again. Withdraw winnings to your JazzCash or Easypaisa and treat them as a lucky bonus, not a salary.
Never borrow to play. Gaming with borrowed money – whether from a friend, a credit card, or any other source – is one of the clearest signs of a problem. If you find yourself considering it, please use the self-exclusion tool or contact support immediately.
5 Warning Signs to Watch For
Problem gaming rarely announces itself loudly. It tends to develop gradually through small changes in behaviour and attitude. These are signs that gaming may be moving from entertainment into something more concerning:
Spending more than planned – Regularly depositing beyond your budget or making multiple small top-ups to extend sessions.
Chasing losses – Continuing to play or depositing more specifically to recover money you have already lost.
Hiding your gaming – Feeling the need to conceal how much time or money you spend from family members or friends.
Gaming affects your mood – Feeling irritable, anxious, or depressed when you are not able to play, or after a losing session.
Neglecting responsibilities – Missing work, study, or family commitments because of time spent gaming or thinking about gaming.
Using gaming to escape – Turning to gaming as the main way to deal with stress, boredom, loneliness, or financial worry.
If two or more of these feel familiar, take it seriously. Use a cool-off period or self-exclusion tool right now. These tools exist precisely for moments like this, and using them is a sign of good judgment, not weakness.
6 Quick Self-Check
Ask yourself these questions honestly. They are not a clinical assessment, but they give you a quick read on where you stand right now.
Am I Gaming Responsibly?
If you answer "yes" to any of the questions below, it is worth taking a break and reviewing your gaming habits.
Have you spent more PKR on gaming this month than you originally planned to?
Have you ever deposited to try to win back money you already lost in a previous session?
Have you felt restless or irritable when trying to cut down or stop playing?
Have you missed a responsibility – work, study, family time – because of gaming?
Have you kept the amount of money or time you spend gaming secret from someone close to you?
Have you ever felt like you need to gamble to feel okay or to escape from problems?
One or more "yes" answers? This does not mean you have a serious problem, but it does mean the responsible thing is to pause, set tighter limits, or take a cool-off period. Reach out to support at [email protected] – it is confidential and there is no judgement involved.
7 Self-Exclusion: Step-by-Step Guide
Self-exclusion is the strongest account control tool available on 288min. When you self-exclude, your account is suspended for the period you choose. You cannot log in, deposit, or place bets during that time. Here is how it works:
Choose your exclusion period
Self-exclusion is available for periods ranging from 30 days up to permanent closure. A permanent self-exclusion cannot be reversed. Think carefully about which period is right for your situation.
Submit your request
Go to Account Settings and select the Self-Exclusion option, or email [email protected] with the subject "Self-Exclusion Request" and include your registered mobile number and the period you want. The team will process it immediately.
Exclusion takes effect straight away
Your account is suspended as soon as the request is processed. Any pending withdrawals of PKR funds will be paid out to your registered JazzCash or Easypaisa account before the suspension is fully applied.
No promotional contact during exclusion
While you are self-excluded, 288min will not send you promotional messages or bonus offers. Your contact details are flagged to prevent marketing communications for the duration of the exclusion.
Returning after the exclusion period
When a time-limited exclusion expires, you will need to contact support to reactivate your account. There is a mandatory 24-hour reflection period before reactivation is completed. Permanent self-exclusions are not reversed under any circumstances.
If you self-exclude, please also delete the 288min app or bookmark from your devices. Remove payment methods saved in your browser. These small steps reduce the chance of acting on impulse during a difficult moment.
8 Protecting Minors
288min is strictly for adults aged 18 and above. We enforce this during registration and again during the identity verification process that precedes withdrawals. However, we also recognise that devices are shared in many Pakistani households, and we want to help parents and guardians prevent underage access.
- Never share your login credentials with family members, including older teenagers. Your account is personal.
- Log out fully after each session rather than leaving the platform open or saved in a browser with stored credentials.
- Use your device's built-in parental controls to restrict access to gaming websites on devices shared with children.
- Keep your payment methods private. JazzCash and Easypaisa PINs, bank card details, and Raast credentials should not be known to anyone else in the household.
If you suspect that a minor has accessed a 288min account – whether your own or one they created themselves – contact support at [email protected] immediately. We will investigate and close the account, with any PKR balance returned to the depositing payment method.
